I have a Dream (나에게는 꿈이 있습니다)- 8

I have a Dream 의 해석도 거의 마무리 단계입니다. 글을 읽을 수록 연설이 대단함을 느끼게 됩니다. 이런 연설의 힘은 어디에서 나왔을까요? 믿음에서 나왔을까요? 알수 없는 일입니다. 하지만 이러한 연설을 할 수 있다는 것은 대단합니다. 달려있는 음악을 들어주시죠. 그 당시에 나온 음악이라고 하네요

This is our hope. This is the faith with which I return to  the South. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the  mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will  be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into  a beautiful symphony of  brotherhood. With this faith we  will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle  together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom  together, knowing that we will be free one day.

이것이 우리의 희망입니다. 이것이 내가 남부로 갈 때 가지고 갈 믿음입니다.  이 믿음으로 우리는 절망의 산에서 희망의 바위를 깎아낼 수 있을 것입니다. 이  믿음으로 우리는 우리나라의 소란스런 불협화음을 아름다운 형제애의 교향곡으로  바꿀 수 있을 것입니다. 이 믿음으로 우리는 함께 노력하고, 함께 기도하고, 함께  투쟁하고, 함께 투옥되고, 함께 자유를 옹호할 수 있을 것입니다. 언젠가 우리는  자유를 얻으리라는 것을 알기 때문입니다.

This will be the day when all of God's children will be able  to sing with new meaning, My country, 'tis of thee,  Sweet land of liberty,  Of thee I sing; Land where my fathers died,  Land of the Pilgrims’ pride, From every  mountainside  Let freedom ring.

이날은 하나님의 모든 자녀들이 새로운 의미로 다음의 노래를 부를 수 있는 날이 될 것입니다. 나의 조국, 그대,  즐거운 자유의 나라,  그대를 난 노래하네. 우리 조상들이 돌아가신 나라, 순례자의 자부심이 서린 나라,  모든 산허리에서 자유가 울려 퍼지게 하라.

★'tis of thee: =it is of you. 이것은 당신에 대한 노래입니다. of thee는 다음의 I sing에 걸리는데, 이 노래는 미국의 공식적인 국가(國歌)는 아니지만 국민  들이 국가처럼 즐겨 부르는 노래 중 하나이다. “My country, ‘tis of thee” cf. “God Save the Queen”
